Craftin' Outlaws Show

This past weekend I set up shop for the first time at Craftin Outlaws.  I was excited, exhausted and anxious to see how things would go and what my booth would look like once completely set up.

It was very difficult preparing for this show.  I was so excited to have been accepted, only two find out shortly after that I needed to have surgery on my knee, which resulted in six weeks of crutches. However, I was determined to be there.  With so much help from my dad, (those words don't even do it justice...) I was able to still participate!  Together we had hand cut and sewn/hand sewn 175+ dog collar accessories and set up our booth with four (really cool I might add) spray painted ironing board displays.
I seriously couldn't believe we did it all in time!

The show was a success for LBF and I will keep applying in the future.  I can't say thank you enough to everyone that helped along the way and to my amazing friends and brother-in-law + sister-in-law that drove up from Dayton to see me!  I am so blessed to have such supportive people in my life.  This show was a lot of fun, and I was glad to be a part of it.

Thank you to everyone that has called, texted, or emailed me about my recovery and my show.
My shop is now open again, with plenty of ready to ship collar accessories!

Made in the 216 event

This weekend is the Made in the 216 event held in downtown Cleveland, OH.  I am so excited to be participating in this event and am even more pumped to shop other local artists!

Made in the 216 is held at the Dredgers Union on E. 4th Street in the heart of downtown Cleveland.  This show is very different compared to a traditional art show because the handmade artists dropped off their goods to the store two weeks ago and the store owners are creating a retail store environment with all the handmade products displayed throughout the space.
Pretty cool, right?

Friday is the beginning of this event, with a party celebrating Dredger's Union's first birthday and to help kick off the Made in the 216 event.  If you live in or near Cleveland, come shop talented local artists in this unique event on Saturday or Sunday that will be sure to impress you and your friends.  And if you see me out and about enjoying downtown Cleveland (I might have a Colossal Cupcake in hand) or shopping at Made in the 216, stop me and say hi.  I love meeting new people!

Bark In The Park

Red and white checkered bow-tie for sale here.
Pear green and white scallop stripes bow-tie.

Large felt flower collar accessories.

Small felt flower dog collar accessories.

This weekend I am participating in my second show of the year (and in May) close by here in Akron, OH.  This show is going to be really fun because the entire show is for pups!  Bark in the Park is this Saturday and I am very excited to share a booth with good friends that make handmade dog leashes.  I have really turned into a dog lover and I can't wait for Stanlee and I to make new friends at the show.  I have been adding more dog bow-tie and felt flower inventory to prepare for the show and playing with fun new fabrics.  If you live in the area, you should come out to Springfield Lake Park and people watch, dog watch and enjoy the warm weather with a walk around the lake.  It will definitely be a good time.

Also, have you ever noticed that a lot of times an owner and their dog resemble each other?  I love people watching, but if it's combined with people and their pups....well that is just even more fun!

Crafty Supermarket Recap

Last weekend I traveled to southwest Ohio and set up a little booth for the Crafty Supermarket at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center.  This was my first indie craft show and it was so much fun being a vendor!  I am still very new to the shows and events scene for my handmade business, but after leaving last weekend I knew I wanted to apply for the Crafty Supermarket's next show in November.

During the show I took note of the different comments and questions customers would ask me.  For example, I was asked quite a few times if I could make matching bow-ties and hair clips for kids so they could match their dog.  This is an idea I have been wanting to do for a while now and I am excited to make this happen!  My favorite thing that was said to me was "Oh my gosh.  There are so many reasons I need a dog, but this is definitely the top reason!"  -referring to my bow-ties.

Overall, the show was a big success and I was introduced to so many cool artists and their work.

These were my favorite booths from Saturday:

Cynthia Vardhan Ceramics

Good tunes accompanied us all day.

Wholly Craft!

Andy J Miller from DesignKoma

Design Koma was screen printing fresh prints at their booth!  I love when artists show their work in progress.

Redraven Studios

Animals made from vintage fabrics.  Shop The Wind & The Sail.

The Wind and The Sail again.  I really adored her vintage linen animals.  Each one was unique.

Gracie Sparkles handmade cards.

Sara Gelbert is the designer from Excitations.  I loved all her feather wood prints and leather jewelry!  You can shop her products on etsy.

Some of my other favorite vendors that I do not have photos of are the artists listed below:
Cordial Kitten  (custom illustrations)
Sally Harless (art + illustration)
David Nebert  (Works + Inspirations: organic life and recycled light bulbs)

Take a look at some of these artists and let them know you found them through Little Blue Feather!

New fabrics + First indie craft show

This weekend I am participating in my first ever indie craft show taking place in Cincinnati!  I am so excited, yet so nervous.  The name of the show is the Craft Supermarket and the team behind the show has put together a really awesome vendor line up.  I'm totally impressed!!  Not only am I excited to sell at the show, but I hope to do a little shopping too! ;)

The next four days I am going to consume way too much iced coffee, sleep too little and work work work as much as possible.  I have some new fabrics that I am excited to work with and some fun displays from Ikea for my booth.

If you live in Cincinnati, come out to the show and say Hi!
