Handmade Christmas Stocking

This week I traveled to my favorite little fabric boutique in Columbus for a night of sewing with some ladies.  On Monday I finished work, quickly drove to Columbus, sat down at Sew To Speak and introduced myself to the 5 women I would be spending the next 3+ hours with.  Our instructor was Mary Dugan, who is an amazing quilter that also blogs about her sewing adventures over here.  She taught us quilting basics and how to make our own customized stocking.

I am so in love with the look of this retro inspired stocking, that I now want to make 10 more of them.  Family members: Beware.

The only problem that I ran into was finding a place to hang my stocking since we do not have a fireplace. Luckily, my chalk wall saved the day and I have my stocking hung ready to be stuffed with some candy and nail polish!  (...ahem, ahem hubby)

Here are some photos from our class and a look at the other adorable stockings created that night:

Mary taught us that quilting straight lines is easiest when using masking tape to keep your rows straight.

The lining for my stocking is a soft grey and white floral fabric.

I love all the fabrics used this night!  Makes me so ready for Christmas season.

I'm in love obsessed with this "Oh, deer" fabric from Moda.
I want to buy it in every color.

My stocking is hung above my workspace in LBF studios <3

Pillows in Progress

This week I am working on more pillows for the shop!  I had a great response to my love pillow and decided to start working on new designs.

I asked my Facebook followers what they would like to see and some of the responses were:

  • love
  • live, laugh love
  • amor, amour, amore
  • fall
  • joy, noel

I looked through my fabrics and pulled some new and old prints that are fall-ish to try and incorporate into my new pillow covers.  After shipping two pillows last week, I realized the price of shipping the pillow cover and pillow form was a little bit more than expected.  I have decided to make all listings pillow covers and have seperate individual listings for the pillow forms.  That way you have the option of the whole pillow shipping together (with accurate shipping costs) or you can purchase just the pillow cover and use a pillow form you already have at home, or purchase one from your local craft store.  This also makes it easier for you to change things up with new covers, colors and designs!

The pillows will be listed in the shop by the weekend for you to purchase!

Little Blue Feather Siting and Etsy Orders

Earlier this week, Casey Wiegand wrote a what we wore blog post that included her adorable kids wearing Little Blue Feather.  Casey's blog is one of my favorites that I visit daily.  The Wiegands are a beautiful family that is full of faith, quality family time and artistic abilities.  I felt, and still feel honored to be included on her blog!  In case you missed it, take a look below at some of the pictures from her blog post:

After Casey mentioned Little Blue Feather on her blog, I had several requests for this letter onesie that Ainsleigh is wearing!  In addition to letter onesies, my love birds onesie and owl onesies were also a hit.  Last night I started stamping and cutting appliques to prepare for my work day today!

*One last fun and exciting thing:  I had my 200th etsy sale yesterday!! :)
