New t-shirt designs

Today, I headed over to my friend Gretchen's house with some new t-shirt designs that she graciously helped me photograph.  Taking product pictures is not always the easiest thing to do; is the lighting good, what do I do with my arms, does my face look weird, is my shirt pulled the wrong way?  These are all things that make photographing yourself in your products a little difficult.  Luckily, if you have your best friend with you to help, she can not only point out these things, but also make the process so much more enjoyable.  Thank you Gretchen for spending the afternoon with me and playing photographer! ;)

This week I am sending in some applications and product photos to local shops and indie craft shows in hopes that they like my items and want to include me in their event/store.  Lets hope some of these photos catch their eye and make them want to see more of my products in person!

What I'm working on

What I'm working on...
A new blog series that will give you a look into what I have been working on in the past week.  I always love seeing artists in action and what current projects they have started in their studios.  On Wednesdays I am going to give you a look into what I am currently working on whether it is for LBF or just a look into art projects outside of my work.

This week I have been working on giving my shop, blog and facebook a new look.  I've had in my mind some changes I wanted to make for when I reopened my shop for 2012, and decided to start with new marketing and designs.  I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted, so after trying to force something in Photoshop over the weekend, I decided to give it a days rest and try again Tuesday.  Once Tuesday rolled around, I couldn't close my computer.  I created a new Facebook logo, new business cards, blog buttons, blog header and Etsy banner!  All the designs flow nicely together, but are all different from each other.

I'm loving the new look, but need to do some tweaking with the text color. It's been challenging to get the yellow/green text to look the same in different color profiles and from image to image.

So there it is, your first look into What I'm working on post of 2012!

{Photoshop Fun} - New LBF Marketing

Photoshop; oh how I love you.  Creating new blog buttons, editing pictures, drawing new designs and making cards are some of my favorite things to do in my spare time.

Something about the color combination of the green and the blue, the font and the hand drawn feather, the lines and brightness make me love the images below.  Simple, bright and Little Blue Feather style...

NEW Onesies For Sale!

Today I finally got a chance to upload new onesies to my shop!  A few weeks ago I sent four new designs to my adorable little niece for her to model for Little Blue Feather.  Baby Abigail is so cute and photogenic, plus her momma is a photographer!  Abigail's expression in the first photo makes me smile every time I see it :)

Take a look at what's new in the shop!

Drawing In My Sleep

Hi friends. I am writing this at 2 am and I am finally peeling myself off my computer and going to bed.  Tonight, I just couldn't put down my drawing pen and playing in photoshop.  If you like drawing and have time to procrastinate, I recommend you get a bamboo drawing tablet for your computer.  It's mildly addicting!
