This Wednesday I am working on getting organized.
Doesn't sound all that fun does it?!
I think it is safe to say that I am not the most organized person you will ever meet. This year I am wanting going to change that. On Sunday, I went to church with my friends in North Carolina and one thing the pastor said that was repeated by us girls the whole weekend was, "everything has a place, and everything should be in its place." Although the service was not referring to my organization, or lack thereof, those words are stuck in my head.
So, I am going to take those words and use them to motivate me to get organized!...{and be still and know that just because life might be hard and you feel discouraged doesn't mean God isn't working in your life and has a plan. That was the main message behind those words!!}
Recently I have made some changes and purchased a couple things to help make organization easier.
First up, I purchased a large {and adorable} three ring binder and small sketch pad to keep my ideas and my LBF orders neat, safe and together.
Second, I started using a calender. That's right. After 9 months I finally started using the calender on my phone. Why my phone calender?! Because my phone is always with me. {makes sense, right?!} I can't always talk or I don't always have my volume on, but it is the most convenient way for me to check something.
Next, I'm trying to make lists daily. Something I always find discouraging about daily lists are that you don't always get everything done on your list. Instead of feeling like I have to cross everything off that day, I need to remind myself that it's OK if a couple of those tasks end up at the beginning of tomorrow's list.
The only thing left on this list from today - plan something special for Stanlee's birthday tomorrow!
Are you staying organized so far this year?! Maybe we can encourage each other ;)

To the best of my ability: YES!
I mostly use my GCal for keeping up with TV shows, is that totally lame? -laughs-
I just happened to notice VistaPrint on your list and it reminded me that I need to get another box of cards with updated contact info! ACK!
good for you!!!! And no you are NOT lame!
I really like VistaPrint. They are alllllways having a sale.

I'm definitely trying to stay organized...not sure how well that's going. :-) I started using a calendar as well, but mine is more like a journal. And yet somehow I am still writing my to do list on other random pieces of paper. Great idea to keep it all together...and why didn't I think of something so simple!? Thanks and have a great day!
Meshe, does that to-do list happen to say "plan Stanlee's birthday party"? :) :)
your notebook and binder is so cute!! you are inspiring me to get more organized : )
Oh and i got photoshop! now what do i do with it? haha i'm so overwhelmed!
@abbeliz - hahaha YES! By "plan a b-day party" I mean pick up something special for him at the pet store and give him a big pup treat! No singing will be involved...I don't think. ;)
@ stephanie yay for Photoshop! You are going to looove it! I have learned so much on it through trial and error, but there are a lot of really helpful books for all the basics.
So excited for you!
And isn't organizing so much more fun with you have cute things to put stuff in?! ;)
I love this feature!
I carry a sketchbook with me everywhere. Before I started, I would always come up with ideas at the most inconvenient times and when I didn't have anything to jot them down on. So now, I never go anywhere without my sketchbook. You just never know when inspiration will hit you. ;)
I am a big list-maker, too. I'm always more productive when I have a list going.
Good luck with your organizing! I think you're cute binder will definitely help!
I'm trying to be more organized too! Love your new sketch pad!!
P.S. Tell Stanlee happy birthday for me!! Sorry I'm late! ;)
