For a while now I have been wanting to start a new series on this blog.
{Heart Handmade}
I want to open up this little space of mine with feature posts of other Etsy shops and bloggers sharing their stories and what prompted them to start their handmade business. I want to encourage everyone to buy handmade and share inspiration for others thinking about starting a blog or shop to showcase their handmade items.
There are so many talented handmade artists that sell their items online and in boutiques; sometimes we are just unaware how to find them. Well, let me help you out! I would like to introduce to you twice a month two different Etsy/handmade stores that you can shop, favorite, get to know and support.
Today is the first day of this series {yeeaaah!} and I am excited to introduce you to The Hollie Rogue blog and shop.
Meet Andi! |
1. Your Etsy shop is fairly new. What prompted you and your sisters to open a handmade shop?!
My sisters and I are crafty and have always liked making things, but we were inspired to start a shop because we wanted to work together and be part of the amazing handmade community. We also love antiques and vintage things so our theme/aesthetic feel was easy to decide upon.
2. You also have a wonderful blog over at Thehollierogue.com! Do you think your blog plays a big role in attracting customers to your shop?!
Being such a new shop, I actually feel like the shop drives more people to the blog which I am happy about. With the shop, I am able to participate in giveaways and reviews. This helps get my name out there and in turn grow my blog readership. However, I know many "big blogs" that certainly have successful shops due, in part, to their successful blogs (plus great products, of course!)
3. I love your jewelry, especially your embroidered flower pendants! Where do you find your inspiration for your pieces?
We love vintage fabrics and colors which inspire our accessories.
4. If you could pick one item in your shop, which item is your favorite?
I love the embroidered pendant necklaces and you will be seeing more of them in our Spring collection! So excited :).
5. What does your normal work day look like?
I'm a mom to two little ones and spend most of my days taking care of and playing with them. However, the gym, Bible study, and grocery shopping also make up my days during the week. I do most of my blog and shop work during nap time and after they go to bed.
